Refractory mud is mainly used to connect the mortar joints between refractory bricks and bricks. The types are clay, high alumina, corundum, mullite, siliceous, etc., and there are light and heavy quality.
The bonding agent of refractory mud is combined with dextrin and CMC, phosphoric acid, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate and water glass. The most used is the combination of dextrin and CMC. In the case where the temperature is higher than 1350 ° C., phosphoric acid and aluminum dihydrogen phosphate are often used in combination, so that the voids between the refractory bricks can be bonded together at high temperatures to improve the corrosion resistance.
If you do not add any bonding agent to the refractory mud, there will be increased mortar joints, mud precipitation, stratification, bonding time is too short, and at high temperature shrinkage is also larger, affecting the construction performance and use effect.
The masonry performance and mechanical properties of refractory mud are determined by the binder and admixture. The addition of binder can improve the dispersion and hydrophilicity of refractory mud, form a suspension, and play a role of plasticization. Especially after adding the binder, the mud does not separate, does not settle, does not flow, and does not dry up. The refractory mud does not shrink at high temperature, the porosity is reduced, and the bending resistance and strength can be improved.
In particular, the refractory clay combined with phosphoric acid and aluminum dihydrogen phosphate can adjust the bonding time and flexural strength, and the plasticizing performance makes the integrity between bricks stronger. When aluminum dihydrogen phosphate is added, drinking water can be directly added, and a small amount of water can be added to the binding agent added with phosphoric acid. The mud with more phosphoric acid components is used directly. And the use of the effect than the general refractory mud will be several times higher than the use of the cycle.
The refractory mud added with sodium silicate as binder is used for connecting refractory bricks with acidic components, while carbonaceous mud is used for connecting carbon bricks. Different types of refractory mud are connected by selecting fire mud of the same material according to different refractory brick materials, and must be made of the same material as refractory bricks when used.
